My Christmas Tree 2017

Diamonds, herons and swinging.70D30E37-DE9B-4CC0-B6A4-55662BBE4275

It is a fake tree complete with fir cones and red berries.

I have an angel on the top that I bought from accessorise in a January sale years ago. The first year I bought lots of cheap silver baubles. I have since coveted the Matt silver baubles with decoupage and kept the sparkly ones. There are mirror ball effect ones, shiny smooth silver and glitter silver.

I liked to buy baubles on holidays.

Packing away Christmas decorations from around the world …

This year I have clogs on the tree, that I bought earlier in the year.

Deconstructed Nativity at 35 Chapel Walk until 4pm Thursday 21st

This space displays art produced in community classes.

There was a large viola (?) holding a violin; meant to represent Baby Jesus being held. The back of which is shown in the picture below, which also show with glitter ball that was being projected on to the wall.

Not sure what the message of this piece is; it is certainly a deconstructed version of the nativity.

Christmas Lighthouse book

I have found another book about a lighthouse.

Lighthouse Books

Earlier in the year, I reblogged various posts about lighthouses after I read To the Lighthouse by Virgina Woolfe. I think lighthouse are quirky, romantic but on the other hand dark, eerie, isolated places and with the history as part of dramatic perils of the sea events a interesting focal point for books. I also read Kiss River this year by Diane Chamberlain which is centred around a lighthouse.

When I bought the book, I did not really realise it was set around a lighthouse. It was the Christmas aspect that grabbed my attention … and the £4 sticker on a brand new book!

I don’t know think it is going to be dark and eerie. I possible may find it too twee but hopefully it will be light and jolly and make me feel Christmassy.

Marks and Spencer’s Hot Chocolate and Christmas Tree Shortbread.

Good value compared to the big coffee chains; £2.70 for a medium with marshmallows  which is quite big and that includes the shortbread Christmas trees. A respectable hot chocolate and the tree to nibble on is a welcome edition. Into two biscuits as I opted for no cream. I gave when tree to friend so that was win win.

Costa Black Forrest Hot Chocolate

Decorated with pink glittery chocolate flakes and syrup.

A smooth hot chocolate with thicker than average consistentcy making it more luxurious. The syrup is in the bottom so to get flavour need to mix. It is a slightly artificial cherry taste.

The handle of the glass did not feel very comfortable to hold.

Other Christmas flavours include mint and millionaire.
