A single story: Multi cultural children’s book day

Today is Multi cultural children’s book day 2020.

I found out from

I think predominately the books I have always read have been very homogeneous; written by white Caucasians about white Caucasians. I think that is what I’m exposed to.

This ted talk talks about an experience of being exposed to just white peoples in literature that were not like her.

I think in order to understand different people in the world it is good to know about them and books are one way of doing this. Especially important on the day when the UK sadly ‘completes Brexit’ to think of other people and being united not divided.
