Something else Sheffield is famous for us snooker. Particularly hosting world championship snooker at the Crucible every year. Crucible refers to Sheffield’s steel heritage. A crucible is used as part of steel making as it is a container that can hold very hot metal. The rest of the year the Crucible is a theatre.
The world championship starts today and the final is 7th May.
