World Book Day Blog Party πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰

It is World book day today, this is what the World book club website, has to say about today:

World Book Day Ltd is a small, registered charity. The financing of World Book Day comes mainly from contributing publishers, the generous sponsorship of National Book Tokens Ltd, some literacy partnerships and other supporters, as well as the participating booksellers who fund the entire cost of the Book Token redemption.

Children England get a voucher to exchange for one of the books especially produced for the day or a Β£1 off a book of their choosing. Why can adults not get a voucher too? If you got a voucher which book would you choose?

School children often get to dress as characters from books to go to school. The only problem today is a lot of schools are closed due to snow.

So for those snowed in, those not snowed in, those in the sun let’s have a virtual adult World book day party. Comment below, where in the world you are and what character you are dressed as.

So many wonders of the world to write about on my blog wall. I'm an Oasis fan hence using wondewall as blog name.

  1. In February I read: Behind closed doors by Susan Lewis. A thriller about a missing teenage girl. Lewis has wrote lots of books; I would read more.
Leaving of Liverpool by Maureen Lee. I have read lots of these sagas about wartime by Lee. For me there are others that are better.
The Child by Fiona Barton. A thriller about a baby’s body being discovered. I enjoyed it and would read more from Barton.

  2. I’m not dressed up as anything today, just my little boy! I am hoping to celebrate by doing some reading though if that counts. I’m currently reading a book called The Little Cafe in Copenhagen. Happy World Book Day!

  3. I’m in Ireland and as I’m snowed in and our heatings frozen I’m wearing two large dressing gowns and feel like a character from Narnia! πŸ˜‚ I just finished reading Murder on the Orient Express so am hoping on moving onto another Agatha Christie book ❀

  4. It is freezing tonight in Sheffield. The REALITY for some in Sheffield tonight is a night in the cold. Coming out of theatre after see Chicken Soup; I saw people in sleeping bags and begging.

  5. I know Angela over in sunny β˜€οΈ New Zealand is probably still at work but here in the UK it is 23.30. Time to get cosy in bed and read a little to end world book day. I’m going to read The Life I left behind by Collette McBeth. I have read it before but can not remember it! I’m enjoying reading it. Do you reread books?

    Night x
