I agree with the review that there was a dizzing amount of information. It is not light reading but, think different people could get different things out of it on different levels and perhapas skip past sections not interested in for example detailed scientific explanations of even whole of Uncle Haruki’s diary. I think all you needed to know was how Uncle Haruki crashed plane on purpose the actual diary was not very interesting.
Also agree, it contains big issues; suicide, 9/11, tsunamis. It is interesting for learning about Japanese culture.
I still believe in my theory, first thought after reading first 4 chapters and mentioned, in my post about first impressions; that Nao’s diary was fake. I know have a theory that Ruth was writing the diary; hence no talk pages been present and her dreams.
